iPhoto 2006 Supports Flickr Photostream as Photocast
This may not come as a shock to many, but
The new iPhoto 2006 natively supports “Flickr”: Photostreams just like any other iPhoto Photocast!
Imagine the possibilities people!
Here’s a quick tool you might find useless ;)
Type in a tag and click the button to add that Flickr search to iPhoto1.
1 This list only supports 1 tag at a time, because I’m too lazy to make something actually useful.
This works by…
- Using the normal
https://www.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne
url and - changing the ‘
http
’ to ‘photo
’ and… - adding the querystring attribute ‘
format=rss_200_enc
’ and… - ‘
tags=the_tags_you_want
’ where ‘the_tags_you_want’ is a comma delimited list of tags.
The final url being: photo://www.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=tiny,dogs&format=rss_200_enc
The crappy news from Flickr is “Photos containing ANY of the tags will be included in the feed.” So this is an OR/ANY search not an ALL/AND search. Oh well, what do you want for 5 minutes of effort?
Well, enjoy.
Hey, if anybody can hook me up with a quick way to do the same thing on any arbitrary AND search, I would… uh… say thanks!
